Cancellation Policy

Because this is a very small inn, cancellations seriously jeopardize our ability to remain open since we keep the cost of rooms as low as possible, so please abide by our cancellation policy. Note: (1) There is no cancellation penalty for individuals who have reserved a bed in the Friendship Room of the Mountain House; (2) Reservations are transferable, so you are welcome to have family, friends, or others assume your reservation in your place as long as either you or they pay the full price. (3) With a group reservation (3 or more rooms), a 50% fee will be charged to your credit card for cancellations made up to 7 days prior to 4:00 p.m. on your scheduled arrival date and the full amount will be charged for cancellations made 0-7 days prior to your scheduled arrival date. The policy for guests reserving one or two rooms is as follows:

• For cancellations made 7 or more days prior to 4:00 p.m. on your scheduled arrival date, a 10% service fee will be charged to your credit card. The amount of this fee can be deducted from the cost of a future weekday (excluding holidays and special event days) reservation within one year. An alternative option for cancellations made 7-13 days prior to 4:00 p.m. on your scheduled arrival date is to have the full amount of the reservation charged to your credit card and a gift certificate for the full amount emailed to you. The gift certificate can be used by you or anyone to whom you give it for lodging any weekday (Sunday through Thursday nights), excluding holidays and special event days, within one year of the date of the reservation. A parchment copy of the gift certificate can be mailed upon request.
• For cancellations made 4-6 days prior to 4:00 p.m. on your scheduled arrival date, a fee of 50% will be charged to your credit card.
• For cancellations made 2-3 days prior to 4:00 p.m. on your scheduled arrival date, a fee of 75% will be charged to your credit card.
• If you cancel your reservation less than 24 hours in advance, or do not arrive for your reservation as scheduled, or depart early, you will be charged for the entire stay.
• As an alternative to our cancellation policy, we will accept the policies of nearby B&Bs (The Angler's Inn, Jackson Rose, Laurel Lodge, and the Ledge House) for cancellations with 0-7 days notice. (See below for details take from their websites on 12 January 2009.)

Angler's Inn:

If you cancel your reservation less than 7 days in advance for any reason, you are subject to one night's room charge [per room] for the cancellation. If you cancel your reservation less than 24 hours in advance, or do not arrive for your reservation on the day scheduled, you are subject to charge for the entire stay booked.

Jackson Rose:

For cancellations, we require at least 1 week notice prior to date of arrival in order to avoid incurring a charge ($50 charge for weeknight stays; $100 for weekend stays). Cancellations within 72 hours of check-in time of date of arrival will result in one night's charge. For multiple room reservations, the cancellation policy applies to each room booked.

Laurel Lodge:

If you cancel your reservation less than 14 days before your arrival, your first night's room charge [per room] plus applicable taxes is nonrefundable. Upon arrival, you are responsible for the full balance of your confirmed stay. If you cancel your reservation less than 24 hours in advance, or do not arrive for your reservation as scheduled, or depart early, you will be charged for the entire stay.

Ledge House:

Cancellations [per room] require 7-day notice
Between the Rivers B&B, Camp Hill, Harpers Ferry Guesthouse, and Stowell Galleries B&B have no cancellation policy stated on website, so the Inn will not match their cancellation policies.
